DEPOSIT TAKEN | Austin Healey 3000 MKII | Original RHD Car Delivered to Donald Healey Motor Co, Warwick - 1961 | £55,000 | RHD
Just in, further photographs to come shortly. Early viewing reccommended owing to oustanding provenance.
Built 2-6th June 1961 and with just three owners from new, this 3000 MKII is an original right hand drive UK car with outstanding provenance having been delivered to the Donald Healey Motor Company, Warwick dealership on the 16th June with a Warwickshire registration of ‘2290 WD’ which the car still wears. Very well specified from new with wire wheels, heater, adjustable steering column, a laminated windscreen and overdrive. The car retains its original body, engine and chassis verified by the heritage certificate.
Now finished in Colorado Red over Ivory white, this example has an excellent aesthetic with works Healey side vents, slim ‘bumperrettes’ (full bumpers also provided), rare period Lucas lamps, Monza fuel cap, a rear fog light and our road specification stainless side exhaust. Inside the car features Black interior trim with Red piping, rally instrumentation and an extra map light.
We have looked after this car for the last two owners and over 14 years. In 2010 we upgraded the original engine to our ‘Rawles Revival Fast Road’ specification with our fast flow cast aluminum manifold, upgraded camshaft, unleaded converted head, lightened flywheel, a high torque starter, alternator conversion and more. The gearbox and overdrive were rebuilt later that year. The car benefits from other mechanical upgrades including a Denis Welch upgraded steering box and column, uprated front disc calipers and a servo.
This is a very nice quality Healey with fantastic mechanical upgrades for improved usability. Body fit is of a good standard across the car as is the paint, with all wet weather gear including hood and tonneau present.
This car is provided serviced with MOT, heritage certificate of authenticity and British Motor Heritage technical specification as well as a very large history file.
