SOLD Austin Healey 3000 MkII BN7 two-seat roadster - 1962 | £58000 |
A very good example of the rare, 2 seat Healey, well restored and very clean throughout. As a 3000 MKII BN7 this represents a very limited production model with only 355 examples built in left and right hand configuration; a figure superseded only by the 100S. The MKII two-seat cars are widely recognised by Austin Healey aficionados as one of the finest models; maintaining the purest silhouette with its two-seat roadster form and improved driving dynamics due to reduced weight and improved weight distribution through relocation of the roof and spare tyre over 2+2 cars - most importantly however as a MKII these models also feature the improved power and performance of late cars.
This example originally built by the Abingdon factory on 12th February 1962 is finished in its original body colour of, Black leather seating and contrast piping all in good condition throughout. The car was well specified from the factory with equipment including: wire wheels, overdrive, heater, adjustable steering column, a laminated windscreen and roadspeed tyres. The car was imported to England in 1992 and was then restored in Essex in 1994 to a very good standard with the car remaining very nice condition visually and underneath, with excellent documentation of restoration and with the bonus of many letters between a previous owner and the Bill Bolton of the International Healey Register. From the MOTs and documentation supplied with the car, it is apparent that it has been used very sensitively and sparingly since.
This car is supplied checked, serviced with 12 months MOT and a heritage certificate included in the price.
