Austin Healey 3000 BJ7 in very good condition - 1963 | £67,000 | Left Hand Drive
Only 6000 BJ7 cars were made and they are a popular model as they enjoy the features of the 3000 MKIII including the pram type hood and windows but the internal style of the early cars but have th einternal styling of the eraly cars.
This is very good car that looks stunning and drives beautifully and is finished in the favourite Ice Blue and Ivory paint scheme.
The car was purchased from the Healey shop in New Zealand in 1999, while the owner lived there for two years. The car was a US import originally having been registered in New Jersey in 1963 and was in need of total restoration. Rick Rimmer of the Healey shop was a well know Big Healey expert who had restored 9 Big Healeys prior to AOW. Rick rebuilt the car, delivering it in 2000.
The car was stripped down and completely rebuilt from the tyres up. The engine and Gearbox are original but the engine was enhanced with three Weber’s, a hotter cam and also modified to run on unleaded fuel. Every area of the car was assessed and where necessary a replacement part was purchased from the UK or Australia.
The project in New Zealand came to an end in April 2000 and the car was shipped to the UK and imported by myself. This is when it received the AOW73A licence plate. Since then it has been kept in a heated garaged in the UK in Hampshire and has been maintained completely by Rawles Motorsport.
