Austin Healey 3000 MkIIA SXG 881 - 1965 | £42,000 |

Austin Healey 3000 mkIIA mk2a for sale colorado red

Attractive Colorado red popular MKIIA car finished with black leather interior. Low mileage since restoration and in very good condition, great drive and performance in the stylish MKIIA configuration.

SXG 881 was built in August 1963 and is an original UK delivered right hand drive, supplied by Henlys of Bristol and registered in Middlesbrough.

We are advised that the car has completed less than 6000 miles since a complete bare metal nut and bolt restoration in which the car was built around a new chassis as a lightweight high perfromance car.

The car drives very well and performs in the sporting style you would expect form a fast road engine fitted with triple Webbers and side exhaust.

The current owner (tenth), bought the car from us. Mr Paul Bracey of Bristol who had purchased the car in 1996, renovated the vehicle with his father Edward Bracey for their own use as a fast road car (with race potential).

Edward’s business was Netham Autos in Bristol. Netham Autos did engineering work over many years for John Chatham. Paul and his father Edward renovated this car as a bespoke car utilising all the best practice modifications applied to John Chatham’s specifications to include: Chassis Modifications to new series 111 chassis, up-rated suspension and brakes.

The engine and gearbox were completely restored and upgraded 5,500 miles ago, with modifications to include a high lift cam, balanced crankshaft and fitted upgraded damper, and triple Weber carburetors. A 6 way exhaust manifold and stainless steel side exhaust were fitted.

The wings are fitted with works replica side vents, and a  race type gear stick with overdrive button.

All running gear has been refurbished or replaced including  new brake pipes, fuel lines, tank and many other parts fitted. Heat shielding has been fitted to inside of cabin and engine bay and a new hood, carpets and upholstery were fitted during the restoration along with new knock on wire wheel and a Motolita wood steering wheel.

Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of these particulars, no responsibility is taken for error, omission or misstatement or imperfections not stated. Buyers should satisfy themselves pre purchase of the condition and provenance of the car and on their own judgment satisfy themselves as to whether the car accords to its description or not.
