Austin Healey MKIII for restoration

Now sold for  restoration by Rawles Motorsport Ltd - We are awaiitng  stock of new restoration project cars - please call for detaisl. This is a very late Austin Healey 3000 Mark III phase 2 imported from California with all duties paid and a clear USA title. This car was chosen by me as it is very straight and in remarkably good condition as a dry state project car and hence and ideal base for a Rawles Motorsport Revival high quality restoration car.

The chassis number is HBJ8U/42678-G confirming that it is one of the last 350 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII cars produced. The U numbers were restricted to US mainly Californian export car. It was built in September / October1967 as a high specification car with extra equipment including wire wheels, heater, adjustable steering column, overdrive, road speed tyres, laminated windscreen and octagonal wheel nuts. The car is for sale as a project car to be rebuilt by Rawles Motorsport Ltd. to a restored car to our customer’s specification of colour, interior and mechanical specification.

It’s widely acknowledged that the quality of our restorations are amongst the highest we employ the finest craftsmen and have all facilities in house for total quality control.

This car pictured below is a typical example of how this car could be completed. No expense was spared in the build and it was completed with many upgrades that improve both quality and reliability. This car was stripped to bare metal, repaired and strengthened to better than new.

The car was finished with a 250-hour paint preparation and re spray to a glass like finish with perfect panel fit. All bare metal was epoxy sealed, paint finishes are 2-pack epoxy and all seams have been sealed. This car was much admired on our Goodwood Revival stand ad we had many compliments that the finish of the car was amongst the best in show.
